Bursey kickstarts Project Expedition’s Canadian expansion with new role

TORONTO — Travel industry veteran Nicole Bursey has landed at Project Expedition.

Bursey’s position, as Head of Canada Agency Sales, is a newly created role designed to support and grow relationships for Project Expedition within the Canadian travel industry.

Project Expedition is an online booking platform for tours, activities, shore excursions, private transfers, multi-day itineraries and tailor-made travel services in destinations worldwide.

Travel advisors can leverage the company’s concierge team, proprietary technology and wide-ranging inventory of curated experiences for their clients.

Based in New York City and building on more than 10 years of supporting travel advisors, Project Expedition is now expanding into the Canadian market, says co-founder Rob Keen.

“We strongly believe in the growth opportunities in Canada and are pleased to have Nicole onboard to spearhead our presence in this important market,” said Keen.

“At our core, we are a company that champions travel advisors. Our platform was built to empower them with the tools, service and product range they need to succeed.”

Bursey said her first conversations with Project Expedition’s co-founders Keen and Jeremy Clement made it clear “that their company is built on a  genuine respect for travel advisors. They recognized the critical role agents play in the customer journey and see tremendous opportunity for growth in the Canadian market.”

Travelweek reached out to Bursey to find out more.

“My role will be to build brand awareness in Canada,” Bursey told Travelweek. “Project Expedition is already associated with many of the big names in travel, including Ensemble, Travel Leaders Network, Travel Savers, Virtuoso and more. I am starting from a solid base.”

To really support and grow business in Canada, Project Expedition naturally tapped a Canadian to lead the expansion. “I will work with travel advisors and head offices to showcase all that Project Expedition has to offer.  It is a great platform – easy to use and built entirely for travel advisors,” said Bursey.

Travelweek asked Bursey what Canadian agents can watch for from Project Expedition in the coming months.

“Customer support is open 365 days a year,” she said. “Travel advisors can reach out via email, phone or live chat – to reach a human! We will be present at industry events and hosting webinars, and I will be reaching out to travel agencies and travel advisors.”
