Air Transat celebrates Toronto-Berlin launch with successful FAM

MONTREAL — Air Transat marked the launch of its exclusive nonstop service between Toronto and Berlin with a FAM trip that brought eight Ontario-based travel agents and tour operators to Germany’s vibrant capital.

Held from July 6–11, 2025, and hosted in partnership with Visit Berlin, the trip offered participants an immersive experience designed to showcase the city’s rich history, creative energy and growing appeal for Canadian travellers.

“At Air Transat, we’ve always championed the transformative power of travel. This holds particularly true today, as we provide the only non-stop service from Canada to Berlin, a journey enhanced by our acclaimed in-flight service – recognized by Skytrax as the World’s Best Leisure Airline for the seventh time,” explained Laura Albrow, Account Manager at Air Transat, who also travelled with the group.

“Bringing these travel experts to the German capital allowed them to truly grasp the city, renowned for its complex history, authenticity, and inspiring urban experiences. We believe this firsthand insight fully equipped and enabled them to confidently craft and sell unforgettable Berlin vacations to their clients,” she added.

The curated itinerary showcased Berlin’s diverse appeal, combining fine dining, cultural exploration and immersive experiences. The group enjoyed meals at the iconic TV Tower and Humboldt Forum, toured museums such as the Feuerle Collection, and participated in guided walks that delved into the city’s baroque heritage, Jewish history and Cold War past. An acrobatic performance at the Chamäleon Theater, hotel inspections at properties like the Waldorf Astoria and Hilton Berlin, a street art experience at Teufelsberg, and a day trip to Potsdam were also on the agenda. The trip concluded with a dynamic GastroRallye through Berlin’s inventive culinary scene.

Participants represented a variety of travel agencies and tour operators, including: Flight Centre; Royal Scenic; Huntington Travel; BCD Travel; Jade Travel; Direct Travel; TravelBrands; and All Seasons Travel.

Air Transat’s new Toronto–Berlin route operates twice weekly through October using the Airbus A321LR. The aircraft features ergonomically designed Economy and Club cabins, along with an upgraded entertainment system aimed at delivering a comfortable and enjoyable onboard experience.

In partnership with Porter Airlines, Air Transat’s domestic connectivity enables seamless links to Berlin from major Canadian gateways including Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax.
