The Travel Industry Council of Ontario’s (TICO) Board of Directors approved payment of $15,743.41 to assist 12 consumers who did not receive the travel services for which they had paid. The payment was due to the closure of Amigo Travel Ltd. in Toronto ($3,123.41); Mexicana Airlines in Mexico ($2,300) and Sky Asia Travel in Toronto ($10,320). The Board denied one claim on the basis that the claimants purchased their travel services from an unregistered travel agency.
