TORONTO — The winners are in for The 1000’s inaugural supplier awards and engagement program.
As voted on by hundreds of its members, who collectively produce over US$750 million in verified annual travel sales, the awards were given out in two categories: Growth Partner and New Partner.
The 1000 Growth Partner Award recognizes a supplier as having the greatest opportunity to grow their existing business amongst members of The 1000. It is given to a supplier that individual members of The 1000 already work with and with whom they see an opportunity to do even greater levels of business with.
The 2023 recipient of The 1000 Growth Partner Award is Abercrombie & Kent. Finalists include: Classic Vacations; Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts; Regent Seven Seas Cruises; Tauck; and Viking Cruises.
The 1000 New Partner Award is given to a supplier with the greatest opportunity for new business growth amongst members of The 1000. It is given to a supplier that members do not currently work with but with whom they see an opportunity to add new business.
The 2023 recipient of The 1000 New Partner Award is Micato Safaris. Finalists include: Aman; Belmond; Explora Journeys; The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection; and Southern Crossings.
“We consistently hear from members of The 1000 that their success is directly tied to their relationships with their supplier partners,” said Tim Morgan, co-founder of The 1000. “On behalf of top travel advisors around the world, we’re honoured to thank them and recognize them with these awards.”
For the 2023 awards, nearly 500 unique suppliers were nominated by members of The 1000, with hotel, cruise and tour being mentioned most.
NEW ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
Since its launch in October 2021, The 100, a club for the world’s most influential travel advisors, has surpassed 1,400 advisor applications from 43 countries, representing US$3 billion in annual travel sales.
Following the 2023 awards, The 1000 is launching a unique engagement program that will allow travel advisors to work more closely with their self-defined ‘growth’ and ‘new partners.’ Launching Jan. 1, 2023, the program will help advisors grow their sales through their existing agency and consortia affiliations. Supplier participation is strictly limited to an invitation-only process, based on specific member requests coming out of a recent survey.
“Since our launch in 2021, The 1000 has been built on member advisor feedback,” said Jeff Sirota, co-founder of The 1000. “In our very first member survey, advisors told us that, firstly, they wanted help with their efficiency, which resulted in us launching our exclusive LUCIA partnership to offer tech-driven administrative assistance.
“Secondly, they overwhelmingly requested that The 1000 support them with supplier engagement based on their individual needs. This new program is a direct result.”
Suppliers may inquire about their company’s result in the recent member survey by emailing info@the1000.club. For more information on the supplier engagement program, go to https://the1000.club/suppliers.
Complimentary applications for recognition with The 1000 are open to all travel advisors from around the world at www.the1000.club.
