Sunwing Vacations launches fall edition of Destination Weddings Guide

TORONTO — The fall issue of Sunwing Vacations’ Destination Weddings Guide is now available.

Already in its fourth edition, the magazine offers brides a host of expert tips and real life stories to inspire them while they are planning their own destination wedding. In addition to being distributed through travel agents and for download at sunwing.ca, the guide will also be available as an insert within the November edition of Elle Canada.

The tour operator believes that the guide has been an essential tool in helping engage with more prospective brides; 2014 has been an excellent year for the team at Sunwing Weddings, who report a significant increase in the amount of destination weddings planned when compared to the previous year.

The theme of this issue of the Destination Weddings Guide is glitz and glamour, and the Sunwing Weddings team has put together a host of ideas on how a destination wedding can be transformed into a lavish celebration – from fancy gala spaces decorated in vibrant palates of orange, red and purple to glamorous gowns embellished with sparkling jewelled necklines and extravagant statements of devotion.

The Trends section puts the ‘diva’ in destination weddings, by suggesting celebrity lookalikes, fire performers and unique entrances to add that extra something to the couple’s special day. Destination reports include reviews of the best honeymoon beaches plus a round-up of the latest resort openings.

While recommendations for the most jaw-dropping settings for the ceremony itself, from intimate, family affairs at Smuggler’s Cove Resort & Spa that enjoy a romantic setting in its own secluded cove on the island of Saint Lucia to ultra-elegant wedding parties at the adults only, All-In Luxury CHIC by Royalton Punta Cana that boasts two swim up bars and a DJ booth on a central island in the main pool.

Plus, newlyweds can submit photos of their own destination wedding on Sunwing Vacations’ Facebook page in November for a chance to win a second honeymoon at the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa, and their story featured in a forthcoming edition of the magazine.

The Sunwing Weddings team also attributes much of their recent success to their popular in-destination wedding planning service where brides and grooms benefit from the services of a destination weddings consultant that will liaise with the resort and local vendors on their behalf.

Travel to the destination is included with Sunwing Airlines. Along with enjoying award-winning Champagne Service, newlyweds can relax with a welcome glass of champagne, complimentary Hot & Fresh Bistro Meals with wine and in-flight entertainment. Brides can also take advantage of a special Wedding Dress Care program where the gown can be transported as carry-on luggage, and stowed safely in a dedicated compartment.

To celebrate the new edition of the guide, Sunwing Weddings is currently extending a special early booking offer. Couples who book their wedding before Dec. 16, 2014 (applies for travel between June 1, 2015 and Oct. 31, 2016) will receive a number of additional perks such as complimentary flight upgrade to Elite Plus on Sunwing Airlines, $100 in-destination resort credit, private airport transfers, complimentary Wedding Dress Care Program, and more.
