Skypride Travel director pleads guilty after being charged by TICO

MISSISSAUGA — Sakthivel Suppiah, an officer and director of Skypride Travel and Tours, has pleaded guilty on one count of failing to hold customer funds in a designated trust account.

Mr. Suppiah’s actions were contrary to Section 31(2) and Section 31(1)© of the Act, and in respect of Section 27(6) of Regulation 26/05 to the Act.

He was sentenced by the Court to probation for two years, including 200 hours of community service to be completed on or before June 12, 2020, as well as a restitution order of $25,142 to the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund. The total amount is to be paid on or before June 12, 2020.
