Riu Reggae opens with 454 rooms, adults-only vibe

MONTEGO BAY — Riu Reggae, RIU’s newest five-star (and adults only) hotel  with 24-hour all-inclusive service, is now open.

Riu Reggae is the third RIU hotel in Montego Bay, the sixth in Jamaica and the second adults-only. With this opening RIU celebrates its 15th anniversary in the country, a destination where it debuted in 2001 with the opening of the Riu Palace Tropical Bay in Negril.

The 454-room resort has five restaurants ranging from the main restaurant, Ackee, offering an international buffet, to Bamboo, the Italian Dolce Vita, Kulinarium (which serves contemporary Caribbean cuisine) and the Steakhouse. Guests can make an advance reservation for a romantic dinner on the beach. The new hotel also has four bars, two of them aquatic.

The hotel also has three infinity pools, a Renova Spa and nightly entertainment. Guests can also access the Pacha discotheque at the Riu Montego Bay, located metres away.

RIU Hotels & Resorts invested US$60 million in the construction of Riu Reggae. RIU now offers six hotels on Jamaica, in Negril (2), Ocho Rios (1) and Montego Bay (3), for a total of 3,116 rooms on the island.
