VANCOUVER — Uniglobe Travel has strengthened its global footprint with the addition of over a dozen new travel management companies (TMCs) across the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Europe regions.
The expansion follows Uniglobe’s acquisition of the contracts from the International Travel Partnership (ITP) Network, a global agency consortium known for its account networking and hotel programme. The new agencies joining the Uniglobe family will benefit from enhanced technology platforms, broader supplier offerings, a significantly larger partner network and increased support from Uniglobe’s head office in Vancouver and its regional base in London. The London team will also see new additions, with Hans Rudbeck Dahl and Kristel Ruinet – both formerly with ITP – joining to help support the transition.
“This move expands our network by adding agencies in a number of key markets, which benefits our existing member agencies, the members we’re welcoming from ITP and their collective clients,” said Martin H. Charlwood, President and COO of Uniglobe Travel International. “We’re also pleased to be able to add two key staff members to both facilitate this transition and enhance our support teams for the long term.”
The acquisition was welcomed by Chris Goddard, owner of Maxim’s Travel in Australia, who said: “The recent acquisition of ITP into the Uniglobe family has been a seamless and welcoming transition. In today’s travel ecosystem, scale and access are imperative for any company’s growth and I believe Uniglobe is well positioned to support The Maxim’s Group in its core objectives. I look forward to a long and beneficial relationship.”
Asim Rasheed, General Manager of Medhyaf Travel & Tourism in Kuwait, shared a similarly positive sentiment following his first Uniglobe meeting. “I truly appreciated the warm welcome and the opportunity to engage with the Uniglobe team. My initial experience has been incredibly positive – there’s a strong sense of partnership, and the collaborative spirit within Uniglobe is inspiring.”
With the addition of the former ITP agencies, as well as several other agencies that have joined over the past quarter, Uniglobe Travel now reports an annual system-wide sales volume of approximately US$4.5 billion. The network spans TMCs in 50 countries and services clients in more than 100 countries, supported by a team of over 4,500 staff members.
