LONDON, ON — Nexion Travel Group’s first-ever Cruise Sales Summit brought close to 50 travel advisors from Canada and the U.S. to Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach, FL.
The event gave participants a chance to meet suppliers, learn business strategies and network with colleagues, giving travel advisors the tools, knowledge and connections they need to grow their businesses.
Jackie Friedman, President, Nexion Travel Group, said some attendees were already booking cruises while others were looking to expand their expertise.
“We designed our first Cruise Sales Summit to be the ultimate experience for travel advisors looking to increase their business,” said Friedman. “The summit is part of our commitment to give our travel advisors every advantage in the marketplace. The more information they have and connections they make, the better they can serve their clients and be successful.”
Participants attended education sessions on the business of selling cruises including strategies to enhance sales, marketing and the client experience; gained insights from top cruise supplier partners and Nexion experts; enjoyed exclusive ship inspections and hotel visits; and had a chance to network with travel advisor colleagues.
There were also special presentations from CLIA and Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism.
“The Cruise Sales Summit provided personal one-on-one time with supplier partners who know you are with Nexion and can speak to benefits that are exclusively available through our host agency. I enjoyed it,” said Bruce Holto with Heart of Oak Travel in Ottawa.
Nandan Kalyanpur of Urban Vacations in Whitby, ON, also took part in the event. “Attending the Cruise Sales Summit was a great experience. The sessions were insightful and the networking opportunities presented were truly invaluable,” said Kalyanpur. “I left with some great practical strategies, new connections and a renewed sense of purpose that can be applied to grow personally and professionally in my travel career.”
