HALIFAX — Maritime Travel has been named a Mercer Best Employer Canada for 2025 – scoring in the top 25% of participating companies.
Mercer’s annual assessment identified Maritime Travel as excelling across key people factors, including employee engagement, and the organization’s agility, engaging leadership and talent focus. Mercer is the largest HR consulting firm in the world.
The award recognizes organizations that have transformed their people practices to drive better business results.
Mercer’s measurements included an independent survey of all Maritime Travel employees.

Scoring in the top 25% of winners is a wonderful testament to their resilience and commitment as valued team members.”
Halifax-based Maritime Travel has been in business since 1949 and is one of Canada’s largest independent travel agency chains, with 95 locations coast to coast, employing over 400 travel agents.
The company was recently named a Platinum Club winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2025. Prior to that, it has been named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies every year since 1998.
Benchmarks for this most recent award include employee’s perceptions of senior leadership, people-manager effectiveness, enabling employee productivity, and valuing and appreciating employees.
