Foster joins Travel Industry Solutions as Director of Strategic Partners

LONDON, ON — Industry veteran Mike Foster has joined Travel Industry Solutions (TIS) as Director of Strategic Partners.

TIS is a legal and payments-technology platform that provides Canadian travel advisors with compliant client agreements, secure credit-card collection and real-time fraud detection.

Foster will lead Travel Industry Solutions’ expansion in Canada following the company’s recent soft launch, and will focus on strengthening relationships with host agencies, consortia, suppliers and other industry stakeholders while supporting education and adoption of TIS solutions across the market. He will also serve in an executive leadership capacity, supporting the company’s broader global operations.

Foster brings 45+ years of experience building, scaling and mentoring travel agencies and advisor networks. He began his career in 1981 and went on to own and grow a UNIGLOBE agency into one of Canada’s largest, before that business became part of Nexion Travel Group. Foster later served as President of Nexion Travel Group-Canada through 2024.

Foster currently serves on the TICO board and previously held leadership roles with ACTA at both the provincial and national levels.

“What Travel Industry Solutions is building directly addresses challenges Canadian travel professionals face every day,” said Foster. “Advisors are expected to operate with greater consistency, stronger documentation, and higher levels of professionalism, while managing increasing complexity and cost pressures. TIS provides practical tools that help raise standards, strengthen protection and create efficiencies across the industry. I’m pleased to support the company’s growth in Canada.”

“Canada’s travel industry has evolved significantly, and the expectations placed on advisors and agencies continue to rise,” said Sheila Folk, founder and CEO of Travel Industry Solutions. “Mike brings an unmatched understanding of the Canadian advisory landscape and a clear view of where stronger operational foundations and protections are needed. His leadership will play a key role as we expand our presence across Canada.”
