Eurail’s new offers encourage off-season travel

UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS — With shoulder-season travel gaining momentum across Europe, Eurail is offering Canadian travellers and travel advisors new ways to explore the continent beyond the traditional summer peak.

Backed by a time-limited 20% discount on all Eurail Global Passes purchased between June 19 and July 3, 2025, this latest promotion invites clients to keep the summer spirit alive well into September and beyond.

Available for travel starting Sept. 1, 2025, the discounted passes give travellers the chance to take advantage of extended warm weather, reduced crowds and more affordable accommodations – perfect conditions for off-season European travel.

Featured autumn-friendly routes and experiences include:

  • Slovenia and Croatia by Rail: Travellers can follow curated itineraries across Slovenia and Croatia, taking in vibrant cities, pristine coastlines and natural wonders like the 24-kilometre-long Postojna Cave – all without the summer crowds.
  • Greek Island Hopping in the Off-Season: Using the 4-day Greek Islands Pass, clients can explore the Cyclades outside peak cruise season. Eurail’s suggested routes highlight lesser-known islands with unique cultural and culinary experiences.
  • Baltic Connectivity Upgraded: As of early 2025, new coordinated timetables will allow for same-day train travel across Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, connecting Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn with greater ease.

New high-speed and regional train services across Europe include:

  • Berlin–Paris (Daytime Service): A new daytime ICE train has joined the popular night option, connecting two major capitals in just over eight hours, with stops in Frankfurt and Strasbourg.
  • Amsterdam–Munich: A brand-new daytime route links these vibrant cities in under seven hours, with scenic stops in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart.
  • Amsterdam–Brussels: New Eurocity and Eurocity Direct services streamline travel between the Dutch and Belgian capitals, offering more frequency and flexibility.
  • Serbia: A completely revamped line now slashes travel time from four hours to just 40 minutes. With connections via Szeged, Subotica also links directly to Budapest, unlocking easier access to the Balkans.


New additions to the Eurail network include:

  • Koleje Małopolskie (Poland): Eurail welcomes Koleje Małopolskie to the network, giving travelers a new way to explore southern Poland. Key routes include Kraków to Tarnów and the resort town of Zakopane, which is ideal for culture seekers and nature lovers alike.
  • Oslo–Malmö–Copenhagen: Norwegian operator VY will launch a new summer service between Oslo and Malmö, running July 14 to August 11. Trains will operate twice daily as extensions of the current Oslo–Gothenburg route — no reservations required. Travel time between Oslo S and Malmö will be around 6 hours and 10 minutes, with an easy 20-minute transfer in Malmö for a total Oslo–Copenhagen journey of approximately seven hours.
