Qantas signs new codeshare pact with WestJet

CALGARY — WestJet has signed a new codeshare agreement with Qantas.

Starting Oct. 15, Qantas’ QF code will be added to WestJet-operated services from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, as well as from Honolulu to Vancouver. These WestJet flights will all depart within four hours of Qantas’ flights from Australia.

Qantas will also place its code on WestJet flights from Calgary to nine destinations across Canada, from Vancouver to seven cities in Canada and from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal.

“This new codeshare delivers on our gateway strategy of operating to key global hubs and providing customers with access to an expanded network with airline partners based in those ports,” said Qantas executive manager of international sales Stephen Thompson.
