“The Canadian market is essential for us”: Viva Resorts by Wyndham

TORONTO — Travel advisors and trade media heard all the latest updates from Viva Resorts by Wyndham thanks to Sunwing Vacations’ recent industry events in Toronto and Montreal.

Viva Resorts by Wyndham “is elevating the all-inclusive experience across their resorts in the Bahamas, the D.R. and Mexico,” says the tour operator.

Agents turned out in strong numbers for the two events, dining on great food and taking in vibrant entertainment at The Arlington Estate in Vaughan, ON and Prima Luna in Montreal.

The delegation from Viva Resorts by Wyndham included Amanda Santana, VP Sales & Marketing, Erika Sordo, Marketing Director and Gilda Noboa, Director of Sales & Marketing, USA & Canada.

“The Canadian market is essential for us, and it has always been loyal, even during slow periods,” Santana told Profession Voyages, part of The Travelweek Group, at the Montreal event. “Our success and phenomenal growth in Canada, one of our three main markets, depend largely on the loyalty and efficiency of travel agents, so we are here first and foremost to thank them!”

They responded well to the call and especially enjoyed the fiesta, if we are to believe all those who joined the small troupe of dancers on the floor, to perform a macarena or a bachata with them, before returning to the table where the food was piling up – a way of reminding us that Viva Resorts plays a lot on these two aspects, food and entertainment.

The big focus of the Toronto and Montreal events – dining and entertainment – was no coincidence. “Our trademark is to offer affordable fun and unparalleled entertainment in all-inclusive resorts located in stunning Caribbean destinations,” said Santana.

Lyne Chayer, newly appointed VP, Québec Guest Experience & Vacations for WestJet, told PV that Viva Resorts by Wyndham “has always been renowned for its focus on food and entertainment, creating a lively atmosphere for vacationers who like to be active. It’s also a chain that has evolved and regularly renovates its facilities to stay current.”

HEADING TOWARDS MICHÈS

The hotel company’s latest addition, Viva Michès by Wyndham, will celebrate its first anniversary next month.

“This is our latest baby, and since its inauguration, it has grown in a way: it has the same number of rooms but the complex has improved, there are more activities, more staff, a little more of everything in the end!” said Santana.

Along with Viva Michès, the chain has a strong presence in the D.R., with resorts in Bayahibe, Samana and Punta Cana, as well as on Mexico’s Riviera Maya and at Fortune Beach, near Freeport, in the Bahamas. “This hotel is actually one of our hidden gems, which really deserves to be better known,” said Chayer.

Santana said Viva Resorts by Wyndham has expansion plans “and we are always on the lookout for new development opportunities.”
