Iberostar Rose Hall complex reopens in Montego Bay as recovery efforts continue

MONTEGO BAY — Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has reopened its three-property Rose Hall complex in Montego Bay, marking an important step forward for Jamaica’s tourism recovery after the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

The company says the restart underscores its long-standing commitment to the destination, its residents and the wider community that continues to drive Jamaica’s appeal for travellers.

According to Iberostar, its dedicated teams and support from local partners have helped the complex make notable progress toward full operational readiness. Core services across the properties are now stable, allowing the company to resume welcoming guests.

As part of broader recovery efforts, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has also rolled out a support plan for its 1,700 employees in Jamaica. Designed to provide both immediate relief and long-term stability, the plan includes several measures to help staff and their families manage the aftermath of the storm. These initiatives include a relief bonus to offset unexpected financial pressures, care packages to help households restock essential supplies, and a material relief program to assist with urgent home repairs.

The company is encouraging travellers to continue choosing Jamaica as their vacation spot, noting that visitor arrivals play a key role in the island’s wider recovery. Tourism is central to economic stability in Jamaica and remains essential for protecting local employment and supporting the country as it works to return to normal operations.
