Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo opens in Yucatán’s newest urban hub

CHICAGO — Hyatt Hotels Corporation has expanded its footprint in Yucatán, Mexico with the opening of Hyatt Place Mérida / Vía Montejo, a 142-room property set within one of the region’s fastest growing mixed-use developments.

The hotel, developed in partnership with Inmobilia Desarrollos, marks the second Hyatt-branded property in the state, joining Hyatt Regency Mérida.

The new Hyatt Place is located in the heart of Vía Montejo, a residential, commercial and corporate district approximately 20 minutes from Mérida International Airport. Positioned directly across from the U.S. Consulate, its location gives guests quick access to universities, shopping districts, restaurants and nightlife and regional transport links.

“As Mérida continues to grow and thrive economically, we are honored to be part of the Vía Montejo development and contribute to this momentum by welcoming the first Hyatt Place hotel to the state of Yucatán,” said Baltazar Pille, General Manager. “With our thoughtfully designed social spaces and guestrooms where guests can work or socialize, we are ready to meet the needs of today’s dynamic traveler.”

The 11-storey property offers city views and contemporary design throughout its 142 guestrooms, each featuring separate areas to sleep, work and unwind. Rooms come with a Cozy Corner sofa-sleeper and a dedicated seating area, allowing business and leisure travellers to make the most of their stay.
