D.R. President Abinader officially opens Secrets & Dreams Playa Esmeralda

MICHES — D.R. President Luis Abinader led the official inauguration last week of Secrets Playa Esmeralda and Dreams Playa Esmeralda, two new Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts located in Miches.

The ceremony brought together national and local leaders, including Minister of Tourism David Collado, along with Hyatt executives and project partners, to mark the opening of the two properties.

Collado highlighted Miches’ emergence as the D.R.’s newest tourism destination and emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration, noting that early efforts by local organization ProMiches helped lay the groundwork for the area’s development and infrastructure improvements.

Dreams Playa Esmeralda had its soft opening this past September. Designed to appeal to families and multi-gen travellers, it offers 500 rooms and suites; Preferred Club; 10 restaurants and seven bars; kids’ and teens’ clubs; three pools and fitness facilities; and 15,000 square feet of event space.

A lively Public Square connects Dreams Playa Esmeralda with sister property Secrets Playa Esmeralda, open since August. Geared to adults only, the resort also has 500 rooms and suites and Preferred Club, plus 11 restaurants and bars and much more. Guests of Secrets Playa Esmeralda have full access to Dreams’ dining, entertainment and amenities, and vice versa.
