GoFundMe page set up to honour Ed Day

TORONTO — A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money for an education trust for Braydon Day, the 12-year old son of Ed Day, who passed away on June 23 at the age of 49.

Ed Day’s younger brother, Ryan Day, who is Braydon’s uncle, set up the GoFundMe page.

The page is at http://gf.me/u/tqgssm or search for Ed Day at GoFundMe.com.

Donations can also be made to the following account via direct transfer: 06702-003-5396379.

Funeral services took place June 27 in Ajax, ON.

“Suddenly on June 23, 2019, at the age of 49, Edwin Day passed away leaving behind his wonderful son Braydon (age 12),” says Ryan Day on the GoFundMe page.

“Ed was instrumental in building an entire community of friends in which he would have done anything for.

“Having died at such an early age, he will not be around to provide for Braydon in these upcoming crucial teenage years and the transition into adulthood.

“Ed always would say it takes a village to raise a child, and this couldn’t be more true. Braydon needs this village Ed helped build now more than ever.”

All donations made to the account will be used solely for Braydon’s needs, including an education fund, he adds.

Ed Day was a travel industry veteran and had many friends and connections in both retail and wholesale thanks to his many years in sales.

He joined The Walt Disney Company (Canada) in 2016 as DSM, Ontario. Before coming onboard with Disney, he was Sales Manager, Canada for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, from 2011 to 2016. Other stints in the industry include Park N Fly Canada as Senior Sales Rep, from 2007 to 2011. He was also Sales Manager for Jade Tours from 2003 to 2006.
