Getaway at centre ice? Air Canada Centre gets Airbnb listing

TORONTO — Airbnb has teamed up with MLSE and Toronto Maple Leafs legend Doug Gilmour for the first ‘Stay At’ program in Canada.

One winner and a guest will win the “ultimate sports weekend experience” at the Air Canada Centre Jan. 23 – 24. The experience includes back-to-back games starting with a Leafs game, a sleepover in a customized private suite at the ACC (overlooking the rink), and a Raptors game the next day. And yes, the winner really gets to sleep in the ACC.

The winner and their guest will receive platinum tickets to see the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Montreal Canadiens and an exclusive Maple Leafs pre-game experience.

Other experiences include a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue including players’ amenities, watching the warm up from the penalty box, a shopping spree at Real Sports Apparel and the opportunity to send players off in the Maple Leafs tunnel as they take the ice.

After the game, before returning to their Airbnb suite for the night, the winner and their guest will also be invited to attend Head Coach Mike Babcock’s postgame press conference.

After spending the night in the customized Airbnb suite overlooking the lower bowl, the winner will take in the Raptors gameday shoot-around experience and watch the Raptors take on the Los Angeles Clippers in courtside seats.

The contest runs until Dec. 15. Contest entrants are asked to visit the ACC listing on Airbnb and “Tell us why you’re the biggest Maple Leafs and Raptors fan and what it would mean to you to stay overnight at the Air Canada Centre.”

The contest is open to GTA residents. Full terms and conditions of the contest are available at https://www.airbnb.ca/night-at/ACC. No purchase necessary.

“Getting the chance to spend a night at Air Canada Centre is an experience many fans have dreamed of,” said Doug Gilmour. “I’m excited to host the ultimate sports weekend, and share my memories of being captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs with two lucky fans.”

Added Aaron Zifkin, Country Manager for Canada, Airbnb, “The Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors have some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the NHL and NBA. Airbnb is pleased to offer the first ever overnight experience at Air Canada Centre in a customized suite while also providing an unprecedented behind-the-scenes experience.”

Airbnb, on behalf of the Toronto host community, will also make a $15,000 donation to MLSE Foundation, a charitable organization that helps get kids involved in sports in their community.
