TORONTO — G Adventures has put out a challenge to all travel agents: to change people’s lives through travel, and to rediscover their love for selling travel at the same time.
Called ‘Change Makers Challenge’, the new incentive program runs until March 31, 2019 and will culminate in a ‘Change Makers Summit’, set to take place in an undisclosed location in June 2019. More than 100 change makers from Canada, the U.K. & Ireland, Central Europe, the U.S. and Australia & New Zealand will come together to meet members of G’s team of global purpose specialists from around the world.
During the week-long summit, agents will also see firsthand the impact responsible travel has on local communications. Other highlights include a full-day immersive G Adventures experience and a festive party night.
Agents will automatically receive one entry to attend the summer per ‘life changed’ (traveller booked). Plus, the company will be giving out ‘random act of G’ gift packs and G vouchers throughout the entry period.
Agents should also look out for surprise challenges and ‘social good’ entry submissions (submitting completed activities that give back) to help secure extra entries to attend.
According to vice president David Green, the aim of the new incentive is to remind agents that each G Adventures trip they sell has a positive impact on both their clients and local people in the places the company travels to.
“At G Adventures, we change the lives of our travellers when they choose to explore the world with us and, as a social enterprise, we change the lives of local people in the destinations to which we travel,” he said. “We’re asking our agents to become ‘Change Makers’, to realize the impact they can have and to recognize why our world deserves more of them, and their customers, in it.”
