Disney CEO took Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams to Galaxy’s Edge and the photos are amazing

ORLANDO — With just one day from the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, buzz about Disneyland’s highly anticipated attraction has reached a fever pitch.

People are excited, and not just Star Wars fans either. Reports of 6+ hour wait times for rides have been widely circulated, prompting Disney to enforce a four-hour time limit and a reservation system for the attraction’s first three weeks. In fact, there hasn’t been this much fanfare over a theme park attraction since, well, Disney’s last theme park attraction (Pandora – The World of Avatar in May 2017).

Perhaps no one is more excited than Disney’s Chairman and CEO, Robert Iger, who recently posted photos on Twitter of him touring the completed grounds with Steven Spielberg (who’s listed as a guest director in ‘Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), and J.J. Abrams (director of two of the three films in the Star Wars sequel trilogy).

“Best way to impress your friends…give them a personal tour of @starwars Galaxy’s Edge!” Iger wrote in his caption on May 11.

From Iger’s photos alone, it’s obvious that Galaxy’s Edge will blow fans away. In one shot, the group is seen posing in front of a massive replica of the Millennium Falcon, considered Galaxy’s Edge marquee attraction where guests can roam the ship’s halls and engage in a dogfight with TIE Fighters.

Also counting down the final minutes to the attraction’s grand opening is Josh D’Amaro, president of Disneyland Resort. He recently posted a photo on Instagram of the entire Galaxy’s Edge crew, who he referred to as “inhabitants of Batuu”. In his caption, he thanked the “amazing team” for their incredible dedication and passion.

“Yesterday’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Cast rally was unforgettable. This photo is one for the ages!” he wrote.

Congratulations, Disney, on what will surely be an epic opening day. May the Force be with you on May 31!
