Successful four-city Canadians roadshow for Tourism Ireland

OTTAWA — Tourism Ireland and its partners have wrapped up a successful four-city Canadian roadshow attended by 200+ travel advisors and industry reps.

The ‘Senses of Ireland’ immersive event series, designed to bring the magic of Ireland to life for Canadian travel professionals, visited Victoria, Kelowna, Edmonton and Ottawa.

Both Victoria and Kelowna are key markets feeding into the nonstop Air Canada service from Vancouver to Dublin. The Edmonton market taps into WestJet’s seasonal flights from Calgary. And Ottawa’s direct year-round access from Montreal and Toronto makes the city an important hub for Ireland.

Sandra Moffatt, Country Director – Canada for Tourism Ireland, said the roadshow focused on strengthening relationships with the travel trade while reigniting enthusiasm for Irish travel. Attendees heard about everything from luxury getaways and cultural treasures to deeply immersive itineraries that encourage travellers to slow down and truly connect with the destination, she added.

For several years Tourism Ireland has been spotlighting Ireland’s appeal as a year-round destination, its capacity for large-scale events such as destination weddings and incentive programs, and, of course, the genuine warmth and authenticity of Ireland’s tourism partners.

“As trusted experts, travel advisors play a vital role in helping clients choose the right destination and navigate the complexities of planning. These events provide our industry partners with a powerful platform to showcase their products to advisors eager to offer something fresh and inspiring for clients who are looking towards Europe for future travel. It’s an opportunity to drive new business for 2025 and beyond, while shining a spotlight on Ireland’s greatest asset: its people,” said Moffat.

RIT, Brendan Vacations and CIE Tours joined the roadshow as well, showcasing everything from custom FIT itineraries and escorted group tours to flexible fly-drive options.
