Park City, Utah sets the stage for a landmark 2025-2026 ski season

TORONTO — Infinite winter experiences await in Park City, Utah, where innovation, expansion and world-class hospitality converge.

Just 25 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, Park City remains North America’s most accessible major ski destination – one that continues to invest heavily in enhancing the guest experience. With two expanding ski resorts, new hotels and a dynamic culinary scene, winter 2025–2026 is the season to rediscover the “Greatest Snow on Earth.”

Park City Mountain: Bigger, Faster, Better

The largest ski resort in the United States at 7,300 acres, Park City Mountain enters the season with major upgrades aimed at improving flow and access. The new 10-passenger Sunrise Gondola at Canyons Village nearly doubles uphill capacity from the base, cutting wait times and improving reliability in high winds. Red Pine Lodge now features a fully reimagined Ski & Ride School, including a new beginner area with playful terrain and two magic carpets.

Part of the Vail Resorts family, Park City Mountain welcomes Epic Pass holders to explore every corner of its expansive terrain. The resort is scheduled to open Nov. 21 with a full slate of opening day events.

Deer Valley Resort: A Landmark Expansion

Park City’s ski-only resort, Deer Valley, continues its historic Expanded Excellence transformation – the largest ski resort expansion currently underway in North America. For the 2025–26 season, Deer Valley will unveil seven new chairlifts, including the East Village Express, a 10-passenger gondola connecting the new East Village base area to Park Peak.

Since late 2024, the resort has added 10 lifts and doubled its skiable terrain to 4,300 acres. Despite the growth, Deer Valley remains true to its upscale roots, with capped daily lift ticket sales and its signature luxury service. The resort has been named the U.S. Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for 12 consecutive years – and with more terrain than ever, that reputation is poised to grow. The season opener is set for Dec. 1.

New Hotels & Upgrades

Park City’s accommodation offerings are getting a notable refresh. Slated to open in winter 2026, The Ascent Park City – part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton – will bring an all-suite, slope-side experience to Canyons Village. Features include a restaurant, bar, outdoor pool and direct access to Park City Mountain via the Frostwood Gondola.

Also debuting in 2026 is Hotel Thaynes, a full transformation of the popular Park City Peaks Hotel into a Marriott Tribute Portfolio property. The redesign will introduce a lively courtyard with fire pits, hammocks and a pavilion for après-ski gatherings.

In Deer Valley, The Chateaux Deer Valley (Stein Collection) has completed a full guest room renovation and a US$1 million lobby redesign, blending modern mountain luxury with its signature sense of comfort.

Downtown Park City: French Flavour Meets Festive Fun

Park City’s historic downtown continues to charm with new culinary additions. Le Depot Brasserie and Union Patisserie headline the town’s new “French Quarter,” inspired by Park City’s sister-city, Courchevel, France.

Le Depot, located in the former Union Pacific Railroad Depot, delivers contemporary French cuisine in an art deco-inspired space. Across the plaza, Union Patisserie offers coffee and pastries by day, transforming into a wine bar at night. Alongside Courchevel Bistro, the trio brings a distinctly Parisian flair to Utah’s alpine heart.

From Nov. 27, 2025, to Jan. 2, 2026, Main Street will be transformed with life-sized snow globes created by local artists, while the annual tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 29 adds a dose of holiday magic.

Major Events: From Sundance to the World Cup

The 2026 Sundance Film Festival (Jan. 22–Feb. 1) will be a landmark edition – the last to be held in Utah before relocating to Boulder, Colorado. Park City will honour its decades-long cinematic legacy with special screenings and events throughout the town.

Just days earlier, Deer Valley will host the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup (Jan. 16–18), drawing elite athletes competing in aerials and moguls ahead of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games.

Looking further ahead, Park City Mountain, Deer Valley and the Utah Olympic Park have all been confirmed as host venues for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games, marking a return of the Games to Utah.

Canadian Connections

Park City continues to strengthen ties with the Canadian market, one of its most loyal and appreciated visitor bases.

Canadians can access Salt Lake City with direct flights from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto.

“Canada makes a huge impact on Park City culturally, and we always want it to be that way,” says Dan Howard, Vice President of Communications at the Park City Chamber of Commerce.

Many Canadian travellers are now pairing their Park City ski holiday with other Utah-based experiences – from catching a Utah Mammoth NHL game to exploring the state’s awe-inspiring national parks.

From luxurious lodges and innovative lift systems to holiday magic and Olympic anticipation, Park City is poised for a landmark winter season. Whether clients are seasoned skiers or first-time visitors, 2025–2026 offers fresh reasons to sell and unforgettable reasons to go.
