TORONTO — The Cuba Tourist Board has a new Director taking over the reins in Toronto.
Effective Oct. 15, 2025, Gihana Galindo will step into the role, succeeding Lessner Gomez, who will be returning to Havana after six successful years leading the organization in Canada.
Galindo brings with her extensive experience, most recently serving as Commercial Director at the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba where she led several international initiatives to promote the island and worked closely with Canadian tour operators.
Galindo says she’s excited to continue building on these strong relationships in her new role. “Together, we will tackle new challenges, seize exciting opportunities and work to increase the number of Canadians choosing Cuba as their travel destination,” she says.
Reflecting on his time in Canada, Gomez says it’s been an incredible honour: “I am grateful for the strong partnerships and friendships built over the years with our Canadian travel partners. I have every confidence that Ms. Galindo will continue to grow these relationships and bring fresh energy to our ongoing efforts.”
The Cuba Tourist Board represents the Ministry of Tourism in Canada. Both organizations extend their gratitude to Gomez for “his outstanding leadership and commitment to strengthening Cuba’s presence in the Canadian travel marketing,” noting how his contributions have “significantly enhanced tourism relations between the two countries.”
