Cuba or Haiti bound? Air Transat has just made changes to baggage policy

TORONTO — Air Transat has made updates to its checked baggage policy for all bookings to Cuba and Haiti.

Effective April 3, 2018, the airline is extending its current checked baggage policy for the South and the United States to include Cuba. This means that passengers who book a flight in Eco Promo or Eco as of April 3 will now have to pay $25 for their first piece of checked baggage of 23kg.

Passengers who book a flight in Eco Extra or a package in Economy Class will be allowed one piece of baggage, while those who book Eco Max or Club Class will be allowed two pieces of baggage.

To Haiti, passengers who book a flight in Eco Promo, Eco or Eco Extra or a package in Economy Class as of April 3 will now be allowed one piece of checked baggage of 25kg, at no additional cost. Air Transat is continuing to include baggage allowance to accommodate the large number of travellers visiting family and friends.

Passengers who book Eco Max, Option Plus or Club Class will be allowed two pieces of baggage at no charge.

The airline recommends that passengers pre-pay for their bags up to 24 hours before departure. Air Transat maintains its current policy for all bookings made before April 3.
