MIAMI — Virgin Voyages has officially expanded to the U.S. West Coast with the debut of Brilliant Lady at the Port of Los Angeles, marking a major milestone for the brand.
The April 6 launch event welcomed more than 2,000 guests onboard, including travel advisors, media, influencers and industry partners, as the cruise line introduced its signature onboard experience to the Pacific for the first time.
Among those in attendance were influencer Dixie D’Amelio and singer Brec Bassinger, joining invited guests for a full-day showcase of the ship’s entertainment, dining and wellness offerings.
Designed to reflect the creative energy of Los Angeles, the experience highlighted the brand’s focus on immersive storytelling and experiential travel. Programming throughout the day included behind-the-scenes looks at onboard concepts, with broadcast segments from Good Day L.A. capturing key elements of the ship’s offering.
Guests were introduced to a range of experiences, from wellness programming such as West Coast-inspired fitness classes and updated juice bars to culinary highlights at Rojo, the ship’s Spanish restaurant. Entertainment previews also took place in venues including The Manor, alongside insights into upcoming itineraries.
Travel advisors were treated to a dedicated First Mate Welcome Show, while other activities included wine tastings, interactive experiences and pop-up performances throughout the ship. Dining remained a central focus, with hosted dinners and curated experiences across multiple onboard restaurants.
As evening approached, the atmosphere shifted to high-energy entertainment, including Red Hot, a music-driven production featuring the Virgin Records catalogue, and Up With a Twist, a 1920s-inspired supper club-style show.
The event culminated with Scarlet Night, the brand’s signature poolside celebration, marking its first appearance on the West Coast.
Following the launch, Brilliant Lady departed on its inaugural “MerMaiden” sailing from Los Angeles on April 7, kicking off a season of itineraries to the Mexican Riviera and Baja California. The ship is also set to sail the brand’s first-ever Alaska season later in the year.
