CALABASAS — AmaWaterways has expanded its offerings in Egypt with a new optional land package in Alexandria, designed to complement its popular ‘Secrets of Egypt & the Nile’ itinerary.

Launching in September 2025, the three-night post-cruise extension adds two nights in Alexandria and one night in Cairo following the 11-night cruise and land journey that forms part of ‘Secrets of Egypt & the Nile.’ Travellers will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria and visit key sites such as ancient Roman ruins, catacombs, the Citadel of Qaitbay — a 15th-century fortress on the Mediterranean — and Wadi El Natrun, a sacred Coptic pilgrimage site. The experience concludes with a night at Le Méridien Cairo Airport Hotel for added convenience ahead of international flights.

As with all AmaWaterways land packages, the extension includes daily breakfast at the hotel, city tours and excursions, transfers and luggage service between hotels and the ship, and the services of a dedicated AmaWaterways Cruise Manager throughout the trip.

The broader ‘Secrets of Egypt & the Nile’ itinerary features a seven-night roundtrip river cruise from Luxor aboard either the AmaLilia or AmaDahlia, paired with a four-night stay in Cairo — three nights before and one night after the cruise. Highlights include guided visits to the Temple of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, and luxury accommodations such as The St. Regis Cairo or The Ritz-Carlton Cairo, depending on the ship.

The Alexandria extension is available for departures from September through June, aligning with AmaWaterways’ Egypt cruise season. Travellers who book by June 30, 2025, can take advantage of complimentary roundtrip airfare from major Canadian and U.S. gateways on select 2025 and 2026 departures, with the option to upgrade to Premium or Business Class.
