Celebration of life events May 10 and May 24 for Brand USAʻs Casey Canevari

TORONTO — Brand USAʻs Casey Canevari will be remembered with celebration of life events in Warwick, New York and Wakefield, MA.

The first celebration of life will take place this Saturday, May 10, at Mountain Lake Park in Warwick, NY, where Casey was born and raised.

The second event is scheduled for May 24 at the Lakeside Inn in Wakefield, MA, near Wilmington, MA where Casey lived with his wife and three sons.

Details can be found here, posted by Caseyʻs family and Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home.

As reported earlier, Casey was hospitalized after suffering a medical seizure in Toronto on April 28, during Brand USAʻs Canada Connect. He never regained consciousness and passed away May 1 with his family at his side. He was just 43 years old.

An energetic, optimistic and friendly presence at Brand USAʻs Canada events, IPW and more, Casey was embraced by the Canadian travel industry, working side by side with partners here to help promote Canadian travel to the U.S.

Susan Webb, who worked closely with Casey in her roles at VoX International and as President of the executive board of Discover America Canada, said, “Casey was a champion for the USA and worked so closely with Canadian operators, airlines, agency groups and USA destinations. He was young, vibrant and passionate about his job and his family and he will be missed by so many.”

In the words of his team at Brand USA: “His passion for travel and his unwavering commitment to welcoming Canadian visitors to the USA were evident in everything he did.”

Most recently Casey served as Director, Global Trade Development (Canada) for Brand USA.

It was a position he served with dedication and passion, says his family in the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home posting.

“Casey was Director, Global Trade Development (Canada) at Brand USA where he cultivated and maintained relationships with U.S. tourism partners in the Canadian market. Casey truly loved the work he was doing with Brand USA and was damn good at it! Casey loved his family with all of his heart. He loved exploring the world. And he loved the people in this world. Everyone who knew him was drawn to his joy, his smile, and his infectious laughter.

“Casey’s love of travel and the outdoors was weaved into his soul. He travelled to 30 countries both personally and professionally. He hiked all over the globe, most notably, Mount Washington five times, and was working on accomplishing the 48 NH White Mountains 4,000 foot peaks. He cherished the U.S. National Parks and together as a family they had visited more than a dozen.”
