Germany numbers strong out of the Canadian market

Canadian visits to Germany up 9.7%

TORONTO — Germany recorded 21.29 million overnight stays by foreign visitors in the first four months of 2016, including 144,333 overnights by Canadian travellers. The global overnight count is up by 6.6%; the Canadian overnight count, by 9.7%.

“While the first three months of the year have been traditionally slow, Canadians are exploring our beautiful country again,” said Antje Splettstoesser, Director Marketing and Sales for the German National Tourist Office in Canada.

“Looking at April alone, we see an increase of 9.7% and expect the positive trend to continue Destination Germany, with its modern cities and the variety of its countryside, continues to be a magnet to the Canadian traveller,” she added.
