Troubled Avianca Brasil cancels 1,045 flights

Books open for Avianca’s new Montreal – San Salvador route

MONTREAL — Avianca has opened ticket sales for its new route connecting Montreal with San Salvador.

Starting June 1, the new flights will be operated on A320 aircraft with a capacity for 180 passengers. The airline will offer three weekly frequencies and over a thousand seats per week to fly between both destinations.

“We are delighted to announce this new route from Montreal. Canada and El Salvador are deeply connected by a community of Salvadoreans that live in Canada and now can travel nonstop. Also El Salvador is widely renowned for its beaches, offering perfect conditions for surfing almost all year. Also, from our hub in El Salvador International Airport, passengers can easily explore other Central American destinations such as San José and Guatemala,” said Rolando Damas, Avianca Airlines Sales Director for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

With this new route to Montreal, Avianca will now serve two direct destinations from Montreal to Latin America, since the airline will also begin operations from Montreal to Bogota on March 31. Avianca also offers flights from Toronto to San Salvador and Colombia, with daily flights to each city.

Effective June 1, flight AV0623 will depart Montreal at 4:05 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in San Salvador at 7:20 p.m. On the return leg, flight AV0622 departs Sal Salvador 7:40 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving back in Montreal at 2:45 p.m.
