Porter ups Hamilton presence with seasonal MCO, FLL flights

TORONTO — Porter Airlines continues to expand its network at Hamilton International Airport with new routes to Orlando International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport beginning in December.

Flights to Orlando begin Dec. 12, and Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 13, both with three weekly roundtrips.

Porter is the only airline offering nonstop flights between these cities, operating seasonally until April. These destinations also mark Porter’s first U.S. flights from Hamilton.

“We are continuing to grow our presence in Hamilton, announcing nine nonstop routes this year,” said Andrew Pierce, Porter’s VP, Network Planning and Reporting. “This is part of our commitment to taking travellers where they want to go, and we’re pleased to offer Hamiltonians the elevated economy flying experience they deserve.”

Travellers can connect coast to coast across Canada, via Hamilton, with nonstop service to Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Vancouver.

Other destinations from Hamilton include recently-announced Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Nassau taking off in December.

For the new Orlando service ex YHM, flights depart Hamilton at 7:05 a.m., arriving in Orlando at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. There’s also a Sunday flight departing at 3:15 p.m. and arriving at 6:20 p.m. On the return leg, flights depart Orlando at 11:15 a.m., arriving back in Hamilton at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Sunday return flight departs Orlando at 7:20 p.m., arriving back at 10:20 p.m.

The Fort Lauderdale service takes off from Hamilton at 7:25 a.m., landing in FLL at 10:45 a.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On the return, flights depart FLL at 11:45 a.m., arriving back in Hamilton at 3 p.m. on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
