Porter expands operations with YDF, YYG flights

TORONTO — New flights with Porter Airlines connecting Toronto Pearson and Deer Lake (YDF) are now up and running.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays Porter’s flights depart Toronto at 1:55 p.m., arriving in Deer Lake at 6:05 p.m. Flights from Deer Lake depart at 7 p.m. and arrive in Toronto at 8:36 p.m.

Porter will also offer new flights connecting Toronto and Charlottetown (YYG), starting June 13.

Those flights operate four times weekly initially, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, increasing to daily service as of June 26. Flights depart Toronto at 1:45 p.m., arriving in Charlottetown at 4:55 p.m. Flights then depart Charlottetown at 5:50 p.m., arriving in Toronto at 7:15 p.m.

Both of the new routes will operate seasonally, ending in early-September after the peak summer season.

Connections are available to Porter’s network through Toronto. The service  complements Porter’s existing summer seasonal service between Deer Lake and Halifax, and year-round service between Ottawa and Charlottetown. The flights are operated on the 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.

“Domestic travel is at an all-time high and travellers can now explore the east coast charm and beauty that Deer Lake and Charlottetown offer. Travellers heading west will also benefit from increased air service with the launch of these two routes and have options to connect to even more destinations across Canada and beyond,” said Andrew Pierce, VP, Network Planning and Reporting, Porter Airlines.
