TORONTO — Air Canada has triggered its flexible ticketing policy for flights in and out of LGA, JFK and EWR in the wake of heavy rainfall and flooding in parts of New York and New Jersey.
Air Canada’s Daily Travel Outlook lists LGA, JFK and EWR, as well as DCA and IAD, all for flights today, July 15. More details are here.
The NYC subway is back up and running, however some roads remained closed in sections of New York and New Jersey after heavy rain swept across the U.S. Northeast, causing flash floods.
Dozens of flights were delayed or canceled at area airports today, including 159 total cancellations at EWR, according to FlightAware data.
Most flash flood watches and warnings had expired in parts of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania as the rain moved on, but a state of emergency declared by Gov. Phil Murphy remained in New Jersey.
Delays were reported on part of the state’s commuter rail line due to the severe weather.
