Air Transat hosts Canadian advisors on Brazil FAM following new route launch

MONTREAL — Air Transat is shining the spotlight on Rio de Janeiro following a successful FAM trip to Brazil, as the airline builds momentum around its new non-stop service.

Held in partnership with RIOgaleão – Tom Jobim International Airport from March 14-22, 2026, the FAM followed the February launch of direct flights connecting both Toronto and Montreal with Rio de Janeiro. Designed to strengthen relationships with Canadian travel partners and boost awareness of the destination, the program offered participants an in-depth look at Rio de Janeiro and nearby Búzios.

Accompanied by Laura Albrow, Account Manager at Air Transat, the group began in Armação dos Búzios, where travel advisors experienced the coastal destination’s relaxed charm through a series of site visits and curated activities. Highlights included a walk along Rua das Pedras and Orla Bardot, a schooner boat excursion, as well as a range of culinary experiences and sunset views that showcased the region’s appeal.

The program then shifted to Rio de Janeiro, where advisors explored the city’s most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions. Visits included Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden and the beaches of the South Zone.

Participants also took part in a series of immersive cultural experiences, including a Carnival-themed activity, a visit to the Museum of Tomorrow, a dinner show and a samba evening. Additional excursions included a boat tour of Guanabara Bay and visits to the beaches of Prainha and Grumari.

“We are delighted to have introduced this exclusive group of partners to Rio de Janeiro, one of the jewels of our network, now accessible thanks to our new non-stop service from Toronto and Montreal,” said Jhadyd Gonzalez, Air Transat’s National Sales Manager.

“At Air Transat, voted the World’s Best Leisure Airline according to Skytrax for the seventh time in 2025, we are committed to offering a distinctive and increasingly diverse selection of destinations. The addition of this route perfectly reflects our ambition: to make travel more accessible, to bring cultures, people and communities closer together, and to offer travellers, enriching and authentic experiences,” Gonzalez added.
