Costa Cruises extends suspension of operations

GENOA — Costa Cruises has extended the voluntary suspension of its cruises until the end of April.

The cruise line, which had initially planned to resume sailings on April 3, 2020, says it won’t be back at sea until April 30, 2020.

Costa says it has made this decision due to COVID-19 containment measures, such as port closures and restrictions on the movement of people.

Cruises currently underway will return to port so that guests can disembark and return home.

The company says it is taking steps to inform North American travel agents and customers affected by the changes. Affected customers will receive a future cruise credit voucher of 150% of the fare paid, to enhance the compensation provided.
