“Greater value, deeper access and peace of mind”: Globus

Travellers want confidence and clarity when they travel, says Globus family of brands’ VP, Sales Operations & Channel Marketing, Cory McGillivray, in this edition of Take 5. “With Globus and Cosmos, travellers have a dedicated expert on the ground managing every detail, navigating the destination and unlocking experiences that simply aren’t possible when going it alone.”

1. Guided touring is a cornerstone for Globus. What advantages do guided tours offer vs. FIT?

“Guided touring removes the friction from travel – and the Tour Director is the reason why. With Globus and Cosmos, travellers have a dedicated expert on the ground managing every detail, navigating the destination and unlocking experiences that simply aren’t possible when going it alone. FIT travel puts the burden of logistics, timing and problem-solving on the client. Our tours deliver greater value, deeper access and peace of mind, all backed by nearly a century of expertise and the personal care of a professional Tour Director.”

2. Are travellers gravitating toward guided tours for a greater sense of security?

“Absolutely. We’re hearing that travellers want confidence and clarity when they travel. Guided touring offers built-in support, local expertise, and a trusted team on the ground, which creates a sense of comfort that’s hard to replicate when you go it alone. In an increasingly complex world, knowing someone is looking out for you makes all the difference.”

3. Which itineraries are selling particularly well? Anything surprising?

“Europe continues to lead, especially Italy, France and Central Europe, with strong demand across both Globus and Cosmos. We’re also seeing excellent momentum in smaller group and off-season programs, which tells us travellers are prioritizing deeper, more meaningful experiences over simply ticking boxes. That shift has been encouraging to see.”

4. What should advisors know about Globus Tour Directors?

“Our Tour Directors are one of our greatest differentiators. They’re experienced professionals who manage every detail of the journey while bringing destinations to life with local insight, storytelling, and care. They don’t just guide – they elevate the entire experience. For clients, that means smoother travel and richer moments; for advisors, it means happier guests and repeat business.”

5. Any message for Canadian travel advisors about resources, tools, or programs?

“Canadian advisors have more support from us than ever. From marketing tools and training on our Travel Advisor Portal to strong commissions paid quickly and robust FAM opportunities, everything we do is designed to help advisors grow. We’re continuing to invest heavily in programs that make it easier to sell, easier to market, and easier to succeed with Globus and Cosmos.”
