TORONTO — The 2025 Avalon Waterways & ACTA European River Cruise Summit is hosting 120 travel advisors from across Canada.
This is the third edition of the European River Cruise Summit, which embarked on a roundtrip sailing on the Rhine from Basel. The immersive experience provides ACTA member travel advisors with an opportunity to deepen their destination and river cruise expertise.
ACTA member travel advisors have been engaging in expert-led training sessions, networking with industry leaders, and experiencing the festive charm of some of Europe’s most celebrated holiday markets.
“ACTA’s priority is to ensure that our members have access to meaningful professional development and real-world learning opportunities that strengthen their expertise and highlight the vital role of the travel advisor. This year’s River Cruise Summit offered an immersive educational experience, giving travel advisors dedicated time to deepen their knowledge, connect with peers and partners, and gain firsthand insight that directly supports their business growth. We are grateful to Avalon Waterways, Switzerland Tourism and to our onboard partners, Air Canada and Manulife, for their presence and support throughout this week’s program,” said Suzanne Acton-Gervais, President, ACTA.
Acton-Gervais said ACTA remains committed to initiatives that champion travel advisor professionalism, enrich industry connections, and advance the interests of the retail travel sector.
Some 20% of the travel advisors currently on board are Certified Members of ACTA, holding either the CTC or CTM designation, and ACTA is currently featuring a CTC and CTM promotion until Dec. 5, offering 30% savings on obtaining the CTC or CTM designation. Travel advisors can use the code 2025ACTA30 at https://www.acta.ca/ctc-ctm-enrollment.php to register.
ACTA is already working on its destination immersive learning experiences for 2026, following a fully sold-out year in 2025. Members are encouraged to renew their ACTA membership at https://www.acta.ca/join-now.php and to stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
