“Travel advisors are absolutely vital”: Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises is justifiably proud of its brand new ship Oceania Allura, and excited about more new ships on the way, including Oceania Sonata (summer 2027) and Oceania Arietta (2029), plus two additional Sonata Class ships coming in 2032 and 2035.

It’s a bright future for the cruise line, and it’s thanks in large part to Oceania’s travel advisor partners, as Brennan Quesnele, Senior VP Sales & Trade Marketing, North America, shares in this edition of Take 5.

1. Oceania Cruises just recently took delivery of Oceania Allura, its eighth ship and second in the Allura class. What’s special about this newest ship? What are you most excited about with Allura?

“The Oceania Allura is truly a stunning addition to our fleet, featuring state-of-the-art design, luxurious accommodations, and innovative dining options. What excites me most is its blend of elegance with modern amenities, providing guests with an exceptional onboard experience. The ship’s new features, combined with our signature culinary excellence and immersive itinerary options, make it a standout. We believe it will elevate the Oceania Cruises experience even further and offer travellers a new level of comfort and discovery.”

2. That’s not the only new ship news for Oceania. In 2027 you’ll take delivery of Oceania Sonata. What differentiators will agents (and passengers) see on this new Sonata Class of ships?

“Oceania Sonata will embody the next evolution of our fleet, balancing intimate, luxurious design with the latest in innovation. Agents and guests can expect expansive, redesigned public spaces, personalized service, and a focus on immersive, destination-rich itineraries. The Sonata Class will emphasize wellness, culinary excellence, and a refined onboard atmosphere, making it ideal for discerning travelers seeking authentic experiences combined with luxury.”

3. The outbound travel landscape from the Canadian market is going through some interesting times, to say the least. What is Oceania seeing from the Canadian market?

“From our perspective, the Canadian market continues to show strong demand for immersive, luxury travel experiences. Travellers are eager for unique and culturally enriching cruises, especially to destinations in Asia, the Caribbean, and Alaska. We’ve observed a notable interest in shorter, more regional voyages, as well as a desire for flexible, safe travel options. Overall, Canadians remain enthusiastic about exploring the world with Oceania, valuing personalized service and premium experiences.”

4. What highlights would you like to share in terms of 2026 sailings? And what space is left on 2025 sailings that agents should know about?

“For 2026, we’re offering a diverse array of itineraries across exciting regions, with new ports of call, special themed cruises, and premium amenities designed to inspire discovery. We have excellent Caribbean and Alaska sailings that are perfect for clients seeking both adventure and relaxation. As for 2025, there are still some cabins available, especially in select suite categories. Agents should encourage clients to book early to secure preferred dates and staterooms, as we’re seeing strong interest but limited availability in certain segments.”

5. Why are travel advisors so important to Oceania Cruises, and what resources do you make available to them?

“Travel advisors are absolutely vital to Oceania Cruises success because they help us create personalized, memorable journeys for our guests. They bring expertise, trust, and a personal touch that makes a difference. To support them, we provide a comprehensive suite of resources, including dedicated training programs, marketing tools, exclusive offers, dedicated support teams, and a robust online portal with detailed product information, marketing materials, and updates about new ships and itineraries. We view our relationship with advisors as a partnership that helps us grow and thrive together.”
