CALGARY — WestJet is significantly enhancing its international reach with the announcement of two strategic airline partnerships aimed at boosting connectivity for Canadian travellers.
The carrier has signed a new interline agreement with Saudia and expanded its codeshare partnership with Aeromexico, opening up access to more than 100 destinations across the Middle East and Mexico.
The dual announcements represent a major step in WestJet’s ongoing efforts to expand its global footprint and offer seamless travel experiences via single-ticket itineraries, baggage transfers and reciprocal loyalty benefits.

WESTJET & SAUDIA
The newly launched interline agreement with Saudia includes single-connection access to Jeddah via Toronto Pearson, as well as both Jeddah and Riyadh from London Heathrow and Paris Charles-de-Gaulle.
Guests can now book a single ticket with a connected itinerary between WestJet and Saudia’s networks with single point check-in and through-checked bags.
Said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer: “An interline partnership with Saudia marks a major step forward in expanding global connectivity for our guests. This agreement not only provides WestJet guests with seamless single-connection access to Saudia’s extensive global network but also strengthens inbound tourism and business links. Together, WestJet and Saudia are creating more convenient and diverse travel options for guests on both sides, fostering stronger connections and collaboration across continents.”
WESTJET & AEROMEXICO
Meanwhile, WestJet has also broadened its longstanding partnership with Aeromexico, offering guests on both sides of the continent enhanced access to a broader network of destinations with the ease of a single booking.
Effective July 2, 2025, guests travelling to or from WestJet’s Canadian network — including its global hub in Calgary — can now access some of the airline’s most exciting destinations with the convenience of a single ticket, seamless connections, through-checked baggage, and the ability to earn WestJet Rewards throughout their journey.
With codeshare service already available to major Mexican cities such as Guadalajara and Monterrey, guests can also now enjoy expanded connectivity to additional destinations, including: Aguascalientes; Ciudad Obregon; Ciudad Juarez; Durango; Oaxaca; Puerto Escondido; Tampico; Tuxtla Gutierrez; Torreon; and Veracruz.
The partnership expansion also opens options for Mexico-based guests, with access to connect to more than 20 Canadian destinations from coast to coast. Plus, starting today, July 2, guests have access to three new British Columbia destinations – Comox, Cranbrook and Nanaimo – as well as the return of codeshare service to St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
“As the number one Canadian carrier to Mexico, WestJet’s expanded partnership with Aeromexico represents a meaningful step forward in deepening the airline’s commitment to the region,” added Weatherill. “Our longstanding partnership has always reflected a shared vision to better connect communities across North America. This expansion reinforces our commitment to delivering seamless, accessible travel for our guests, and signals our intent to grow with purpose and partnership for years to come.”
