Your Vacation Home says its commissionable villas and more come with peace of mind

TORONTO — While there’s been a big market share shift to B2C home rental booking platforms in recent years, Your Vacation Home wants travel agents to know that it appreciates agent business – and pays upwards of 8% commission with opportunities for higher rates with increased bookings.

Company founder Carol Murray says Your Vacation Home has hundreds of properties on offer, from houses, apartments and villas to more unique options including paradores, pousadas and monastery stays. Clients can also splash out with larger homes and chateaux, or stay close to nature with cottages, farmhouses and beach vacation homes.

The options are just about endless and Murray says the company works with agents to create the best vacation for their clients.

Making sure that agents know the importance of booking through a reputable home rental company is key for Murray and her team.

“I think in this day and age it is extremely important to agents that they book with reputable companies, that can provide them with beautiful rental properties for their clients. Properties that live up to their description and more,” says Murray.

She adds: “All of our properties are hand-picked for their locations, their amenities and their decor. Either we or our colleagues abroad inspect them to make sure they are a good standard for North American clients.”

The company not only creates vacations, it can save them too, says Murray. Your Vacation Home has the inventory to switch a client to a different property that is either equal or superior and save their holiday, even at the last minute, in the rare event of an unforeseen circumstance making a house unavailable. Says Murray: “I have heard of online companies that cancel last minute and leave people in the lurch scurrying to find something. If your group or family is large this can be next to impossible to achieve.”

In working with agents, Murray says Your Vacation Home consults with and helps the agent choose the right property for their clients, depending on the requirements of the family or group. “Then all aspects of customer service are looked after, including booking of a chef, maid or other extra services. The agent is given commission of 8% on houses and 7% on apartments. Higher commissions can be earned with increased bookings.”

She adds: “It is very important that agents book large expensive rental properties through a company rather than an individual as there are more safeguards in place should anything go wrong. Agents want to know their clients travel investment is in good hands! We provide this safety and security in booking.”

Destinations include Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Amsterdam and Eastern Europe), as well as Central America and the Caribbean.
