LOS ANGELES — A super modern, ultra-luxe Viceroy hotel is coming to Los Cabos this year, marking Viceroy Hotel Group’s second property in Mexico.
Scheduled to open in the spring, Viceroy Los Cabos, formerly the Hotel Mar Adentro, is Viceroy Hotel Group’s 14th property and will debut as a member of The Viceroy Icon Collection. The hotel is also the brand’s first collaboration with Rodina Group, which acquired the hotel in December 2017.
Upon opening, what guests will notice first is the hotel’s sleek lines and minimal design, a departure from the warm and colourful look typical of other Caribbean properties. Considered an architectural achievement, the beachfront property is located in San José del Cabo on the outer rim of Baja California Sur and boasts 194 rooms, suites and villas plus 50 residences.
On-site amenities include a beach bar and beach pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa, and four newly updated dining outlets. Guests can also enjoy a cinema room for movie screenings, meeting spaces, and new restaurants and bars.
“This is an incredible opportunity to expand our presence in Mexico and to offer travellers a remarkable Viceroy experience in Los Cabos,” said Bill Walshe, Viceroy Hotel Group. “It is a privilege to collaborate with such an accomplished partner as Rodina, who shares our vision to create an extraordinary new modern luxury resort experience in one of the world’s most sought after destinations.”
Minutes away from downtown San José del Cabo, guests have easy access to exciting nightlife, multiple dining options and nearby activities such as whale watching, marine park exploration and swimming in La Paz lagoon.
Viceroy Los Cabos’ grand debut will coincide with the resort hosting the 2018 ‘Gala de Danza’, a dance and music festival that celebrates artistry and creativity.
