Rebranding for two Sunscape Resorts in MoBay as SB cuts ties with AMResorts

MONTEGO BAY — Two resorts in the AMResorts portfolio, Sunscape Splash Montego Bay and Sunscape Cove Montego Bay, will be rebranded following an announcement from SB Resort Management Limited that it is ending its hotel management agreement with AMResorts for those two properties.

The termination is effective Aug. 30.

“We arrived at this decision after a long and thoughtful process, and it was one we did not make lightly,” says Ian Kerr, Managing Director of the Sunset Beach Resort companies. “Our goal is to bring back the warm Jamaican hospitality and level of service that prior guests to our Montego Bay properties knew and loved for years.”

The Sunset Beach Resort companies previously operated and managed both properties, formerly known as Sunset Beach and The Oasis at Sunset, from May 1998 to July 2015, before turning over management to AMResorts in August 2015.

Plans for renovations and rebranding programs are underway for both properties, says Kerr, with more details coming in the near future.

The family-friendly Sunscape Resorts & Spas is one of eight brands under AMResorts’ umbrella, in an expanding collection that also includes Secrets, Dreams, Zoetry and Breathless. There are currently eight Sunscapes resorts in Mexico, Curacao, Jamaica and the D.R. Sunscape Splash and Sunscape Cove are the only two Sunscape properties in Jamaica.
