Island Air to implement Amadeus’ Altéa IT solutions

Hawaii’s leading regional carrier, Island Air, has become the latest airline in North America to select Amadeus’ industry-leading Altéa portfolio of IT solutions to power its continued flight into the future.

Island Air will implement the full portfolio of Altéa IT solutions, including e-commerce, reservations, inventory and departure control systems, as well as revenue integrity, loyalty and travel intelligence functionality. Amadeus’ turnkey solutions for regional and mid-size airlines allow for quick and seamless implementation in a scalable, cost-effective way.

Island Air, which currently uses a fleet of 64-seat ATR-72 turboprop aircraft and Q400 78-seat aircraft, will begin a phased migration to the new Amadeus systems this month. It offers more than 280 flights each week between the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Hawaii Island, with more to be added.

“As we transition our fleet to larger Q400 aircraft, we are excited to nearly double the number of flights between O‘ahu, Maui, Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island by May 2017,” said David Uchiyama, President and Chief Executive Officer of Island Air. “To help facilitate the expansion in our flight schedules, increase our agility to accommodate flights during peak seasons and, most importantly, offer a great seamless experience to our customers, we are confident Amadeus is the best technology partner and provider.”
