TORONTO — Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has opened its new high-end offering at Iberostar Cancun: the 156-room, adults-only Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige.

The new rooms, in a 13-storey tower, all offer ocean views and whirlpools. Iberostar’s Star Prestige is the brand’s exclusive concept “aimed to guarantee a unique stay for its most demanding guests”, says the company.

Iberostar outlined plans for its Iberostar Cancun addition back in June.

All guests at Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige will benefit from a range of offerings, says the resort chain, from staying in rooms with the best views, upgraded amenities and having access to reserved areas, such as a private beach club with an open bar, to exclusive services, including private check-in and the possibility of late check-out.

Guests have access to exclusive Star Prestige areas including:

Star Prestige Rooms

Decorated with a stylish palette, each room is created for maximum relaxation and contains a private balcony with a whirlpool hot tub and superior amenities, including 24-hour concierge and room service, nightly turndown, Bluetooth sound system and Smart TV.

Star Prestige Beach Club

This private beach area offers Balinese day beds and sun chairs with beachside concierge service, upgraded towels and a premium music system.

Star Prestige Lounge

Iberostar describes this new lounge as an elegant space with a giant flat screen TV where guests can gather for social events with premium beverages and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

The hotel’s extensive gastronomy offerings include a new and exclusive buffet and restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch buffets and evening dining, in addition to a new lobby bar and snack bar. With all-inclusive access to Iberostar Cancun, guests can enjoy five restaurants specializing in gourmet international fares, including Mexican, Japanese and French cuisines, among others.

Iberostar Cancun Star Prestige also offers wine tastings, food pairing experiences and special socials. Guests can also try out their game at the on-site Iberostar Cancun Golf Club, an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Isao Aoki.

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is celebrating its 20th anniversary of operations in Mexico in 2018, with investments in the country that top $1 billion.

Also this past summer Iberostar announced the construction of a new hotel in Los Cabos and a second Iberostar hotel in Litibu. Iberostar’s Los Cabos property, with more than 43 million square feet and two kilometres of beach front in Zacaton, was bought in November 2017.
