2) Smith Family Garden Luau

The Smith Family began in the tourism industry hosting tours of the Wailua River Valley on Kauai over 50 years ago, and so their luau also has a long history.

Still run by four generations of the Smith Family today, there surely is no other luau quite like Smith’s Family Garden Luau because of its special location near the Wailua River – considered a sacred place where Hawaiian royalty would frequent.

Guests of the Smith Family Garden Luau will enjoy a smorgasbord of traditional Hawaiian cuisine and an open bar of mai tai, beer and wine. They’ll also be taken through a presentation of the full Kalua cooking technique, where the Kalua pig is wrapped in ti leaves before its cooked in the Imu.

Music and entertainment are also a highlight of this show, where guests will enjoy a night of authentic performances from a variety of Polynesian cultures, including Hawaiian, Tahitian and Samoan. The Smith Family Garden Luau also features performances from the Philippines, New Zealand, China and Japan – all taking place in a torch-lit amphitheater (with an erupting volcano to boot!).

Tickets are priced at $78/adult, $30/child 7-13 and $19/child 3-6. Children under two are free.
