Title: Travel Technology Specialist
Reports to: Director, National Operations
Position: Full-Time
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm ET
Location: Work from home and available to work at head office when requested.
OBJECTIVE: TTI Travel is seeking an experienced Travel Technology Specialist with a solution driven approach to configure, implement and maintain booking tools (Concur Online, Mobile applications, GDS systems, etc.) while also providing service and support to clients and front-line advisors. This role includes developing & maintaining a close professional working relationship with external vendors & clients continually staying current with travel technology and systems to provide recommendations for improvements as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Configure and implement client sites for the online tools. Necessary site administration duties, such as: System enhancements that are released, reconfiguration requirements, and troubleshooting system errors.
- Develop and coordinate webinars and demos for clients through the online tool including monthly training demos, new and current client demos, new enhancement updates, to name a few
- Work with TTI’s sales and account management team on new client implementations, providing support and assistance with the setup of client online booking tools.
- Manage daily emails to support that include tasks and requests to: delete/add profiles for customer sites and GDS systems, updating profiles, adding hotel/car/air discounts to profiles. Client request to add air and hotel contracts.
- Queue monitoring for booking tools.
- Update client sites with new enhancements and products.
- Testing of new tools and applications
- Support and coverage for the GDS desk when required.
- Onboarding new staff, Independent Travel Advisors and Corporate clients
- Collaboration with TTI Trainer on Advisor tools for maximum adoption and participation.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMMUNICATIONS:
- Effectively communicate with all employees, Independent Travel Advisors and clients
- Source, analyze and interpret technology programs for future implementation.
ADMINISTRATION:
- Define, establish facts and resolve problems with respect and an understanding of impact.
- Ensure the accuracy of information, through research and analysis of current processes.
- Liaison with outside personnel to evaluate and recommend new technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (GDS) – Sabre GDS System and Concur/Compleat is a must. Knowledge of other travel related programs such as Apollo, Trams, Mobile Applications and other tools is an asset.
- Computer literate, able to use typical business applications software, such as MS Office, Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Familiarity with updating and managing spreadsheets.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the technical space
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of management.
- Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone as well as in person with both internal and external clients, partners, staff.
- Travel Agency experience and knowledge of technical areas is a PLUS.
- A community college or university degree in an associated program or equivalent working knowledge.
