Any time a country or region imposes any sort of visa stipulation - even if it’s a waiver - the travel industry sighs a collective groan, knowing the obstacles and headaches to come.
MONTREAL — Transat Distribution Canada (TDC) says its new boutique agency concept eX par Voyages Transat “will change the way travellers book their holidays”.
The new concept is part of a trend over the past several years that has seen some retail travel agencies ramp up their profile with a more immersive in-store experience. In the UK, Virgin Holidays’ retail travel outlets offer a lifestyle concept complete with in-store bar with wine and champagne.
At the first eX par Voyages Transat boutique, now open in Quartier DIX30 in Brossard, QC, visitors can take advantage of interactive digital installations as well as attend workshops and presentations to get inspired for their next vacation.
Clients will also have the opportunity experience virtual reality and take a tour onboard Air Transat’s Airbus A330 aircraft.
“For us, it was important to provide visitors with a fresh and new boutique concept not only to stay competitive and continue to appeal to our current customer base, but also to attract a younger audience with different buying habits, always placing our travel experts at the center of the experience,” says Nathalie Boyer, General Manager of Transat Distribution Canada. “This concept will also serve as a ‘laboratory’ for the start of a new vision we hope to expand throughout our entire agency network one day.”
Boyer adds: “Our travel experts are very passionate travellers themselves and can help visitors customize their itinerary exactly the way they want, using technology and a stimulating environment that reflects one’s preferences.
“Whether it’s to plan an unforgettable adventure or simply some relaxation in the sun, our travel experts will be ready to service clients and turn travel dreams into a reality.”
