Any time a country or region imposes any sort of visa stipulation - even if it’s a waiver - the travel industry sighs a collective groan, knowing the obstacles and headaches to come.
CALGARY — Home is where the heart is, and sometimes the heart can lead you all the way to Las Vegas.
In a newly released video titled #OnlyOnSwoop, Swoop brings together the Kryk family for an epic surprise reunion in Sin City. Parents Patricia and Lewis, who live in Hamilton, were told by their daughter that they were going on a “nice little trip to Las Vegas for a few days”. Little did they know that 21 family members, some of whom they hadn’t seen since 2010, were there to surprise them upon arrival.
“A lot of us live far away from each other, and also cost-wise, it’s difficult to get a large group together in one city,” said the daughter.
The video then follows the Kryks around Vegas, touring with Pink Jeep Tours, dining at restaurants, strolling down Fremont Street and taking in a showing of Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère. The family even found time to witness Patricia and Lewis renew their wedding vows at none other than the Little White Chapel.
“There’s no better time that you can spend than with your family,” said Patricia. “It’s the best feeling in the world.”
The campaign demonstrates Swoop’s dedication to bring families and loved ones together via affordable airfares, says Swoop President Steven Greenway. “We’re removing the price barrier, redefining face-time and fostering the human need for connection. We are incredibly proud of this reunion and the way it brings our values to the foreground.”
Cathy Tull, chief marketing officer for the LVCVA, added: “Las Vegas is a destination that can fit any budget and we’re delighted to partner with Swoop to show that getting her is easy and affordable.”
The #OnlyOnSwoop campaign combines a seat sale and social media campaign where entrants are given a chance to win roundtrip tickets for up to six people, anywhere Swoop flies.
The seat sale includes 1,350 total seats available, runs until Feb. 21, 2019 and applies to travel between April 29, 2019 and June 24, 2019. Prices start at $69 one way between Kelowna and Winnipeg, and up to $149 one-way from Edmonton to Orlando.
For those interested in Las Vegas, Swoop flies from Hamilton, Edmonton and Abbotsford with fares starting from $139 one way.
