Are the big players interested in buying smaller agencies? Well, it depends on who you ask.
In mid-January, as a winter storm blanketed Canada in frigid cold and snow, seven travel agents basked in Florida’s sunshine as they joined VISIT FLORIDA on a familiarization tour around Central Florida. Flying via direct flights sponsored by Air Canada from Toronto to Orlando, the group began their trip in Orlando with hosted accommodations at Balmoral Resorts. The group spent a few days experiencing and learning what’s new at Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort. They then traveled a quick 45 minutes to the Space Coast to spend an afternoon touring downtown Melbourne, and then spent a whole day experiencing Kennedy Space Center.
This spring, VISIT FLORIDA will host another FAM tour for up to 10 travel agents to experience and learn more about Florida’s Northeast Coast. To qualify for this FAM, agents must complete VISIT FLORIDA’s new online learning program, Florida Travel Pro by 03/20/19. This e-learning platform is designed to help travel professionals nationwide discover the best the state has to offer and sell Florida like a pro.
