The Canadian travel industry is fuelled year after year by huge volumes of ITC package sales to sun and sand destinations. So does that mean we’re immune to 2019’s travel trends? Not at all.
TORONTO — Vision Travel, A Direct Travel Company, has agreed to acquire UNIGLOBE One Travel, one of the largest independently owned travel management companies in Western Canada.
As a Vancouver-based franchise of UNIGLOBE Travel (Western Canada), UNIGLOBE One Travel has been delivering customized and technology-driven corporate travel solutions to Canadian corporations and the SME market for over 25 years. It will continue to operate under the UNIGLOBE One Travel brand for a transition period.
“In getting to know Vision Travel and Direct Travel, we saw a great approach to travel management supported by an outstanding team” stated David Kruschell, president of UNIGLOBE One Travel. “We are excited about what the future holds for our employees and our clients.”
David will join the Vision Travel leadership team as senior vice president, Western Canada while Richard Gardner will join as vice president, technology.
“We have known David, Richard and their team for many years and we are delighted to welcome them into the Vision Travel family. Their similar personalized approach to service in addition to an expanded suite of tools will position us to accelerate our growth in Western Canada,” said Brian D. Robertson, president of Vision Travel (Ontario-West).
“This purchase is a powerful addition to our organization and changes the landscape of travel within Canada,” added Robertson. “This positions us to service any client in North America and globally through Direct ATPI Global Travel.”
The agreement was scheduled to be finalized yesterday, subject to customary conditions.
